Dr. Nathan Evans
Deputy Vice Chancellor
Dr. Nathan Evans currently serves as Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic and Student Affairs at the California State University (CSU) system office. In this capacity, he serves as senior strategic advisor on academic affairs and student affairs initiatives and represents the system in state and national venues on academic affairs and student affairs matters. He also serves as the senior enrollment officer for the CSU system.
He previously served as Director of Enrollment Management for the CSU, responsible for systemwide admissions and enrollment management policies, transfer programs, and academic advising. Nathan served in leadership posts in all three segments of public higher education in California – including San Diego State University, CSU San Marcos, the University of California, San Diego and the San Diego Community College District as well as Arizona State University. His leadership spans the college continuum from overseeing outreach and TRiO programs to university admissions to supporting academic advising and enrollment technology. He serves as Chair of the California College Guidance Initiative Advisory Board and on California’s Intersegmental Coordinating Council Executive Committee.
He earned a Doctorate of Education from Fresno State University and a masters and baccalaureate degree from Arizona State University.
